Craps Payouts At Legal Casinos

Whether playing online or in person, craps payouts are typically the same for all standard bet types. The main difference you'll see from table to table is the limits. Before playing real money craps, it is important to know what each bet pays. If you stick to the pass line for most of the game, payouts are simple.

For players who want to dive into all the different side bets, we've put together full tables of every craps payout and the house edge attached to each, along with plain-English explanations of how each bet works.

Standard Craps Bets Explained

If you are not already familiar, it helps to learn how each bet type works. Most players at legal craps casinos know the pass line, especially fans of land-based casinos. Below is a breakdown of every standard bet and the ways to win.

Pass Line

One of the most common bets in craps, with many ways to win and only a few ways to lose. On the first roll, you win on a 7 or 11 and lose automatically on any craps (2, 3, 12). If any other number is rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) it becomes the point. From there you win if the point is rolled before a 7. If a 7 comes first you lose and the board resets.

Don't Pass Line

The opposite of the pass line. You are hoping for a 2 or 3 on the initial roll. Once a point is set, you win if a 7 is rolled before the point number. This is not the most popular wager at land-based casinos, since no one likes rooting for the house to win.

Come Bets

A come bet can be placed after a point is established. Place the wager and roll: a 7 or 11 wins, any craps (2, 3, 12) loses, and any other number becomes the come point. To win, you must roll that number again before a 7.

Don't Come Bets

The opposite of the come bet. You win by rolling craps on the initial roll. Once a come point is established, you win if a 7 is rolled before that number.

Proposition Bets

Proposition bets are essentially betting on a desired number to be rolled before a 7. For example, you could bet the 10 and roll until you hit it, losing on a 7. This is similar to playing the pass line and rolling for the point.

Field Bets

Playing the field bets on any field number to hit (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12). Rolling 5, 6, 7, or 8 loses. A 2 doubles your payout and a 12 triples it.

Place To Win

Bet on any of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 to be rolled before a 7 after the point is established.

Place To Lose

Bet on a 7 to be rolled before a chosen number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) after the point is set.

Big 6/8

Bet on either a 6 or an 8 to be rolled before a 7. This bet can be placed or taken off the board at any time.

Any 7

A one-roll bet wagering on any combination of 7 to be rolled. Any other number is a loss.

Any Craps

Another one-roll bet, won when any form of craps is rolled (2, 3, or 12). Any other roll is a loss.

What Craps Bets Have The Lowest House Edge?

When betting craps online or in person, you benefit from knowing the house edge of each standard bet. The pass and don't pass lines carry the lowest edge, while one-roll proposition bets carry the highest.
