LAS VEGAS – Craps revenue has seen a decline over the last year in Nevada, especially within the Las Vegas Strip. While the Strip has seen a 4.7% decline in revenue, the state itself is pushing a near 9% decrease.
While the legal craps tables totaled a $244.4 million betting handle, only $42.8 million was kept as revenue. The Strip was responsible for $180.5 million of the total handle for the state and $32.3 million of the revenue.
Though the numbers went lower, the Las Vegas Strip saw an increase in gaming revenue across all games. This indicates that it isn't a gambling amount issue, as the state totaled $748.8 million in October, representing an 8.2% year-over-year increase. While this doesn't only include Nevada craps, it shows other games like baccarat, blackjack, and roulette saw increases from a year-over-year standpoint.
One positive note is downtown Las Vegas. Even though it doesn't hold much weight compared to the strip ($20.4 million handle with $2.5 million in revenue), their numbers increased over the last 12 months by 2.6%.
